About the event

Join Buffalo Maritime Center's President Emeritus, Dr. John Montague along with canal enthusiasts and "hoggee" descendants from the Comstock family in a community conversation to discuss the historic and current day connections to people and places that were, and are still being forged along the canal. The canal created an opportunity for communication, travel and commerce that changed the geography and social culture of the region forever. Immigrants and freedom seekers, the wealthy and the poor, young and old, all kinds of folks used the canal, and still do today.

Today, the canal remains a connector both by water and by land. Share your story of connections on the canal.

This event is FREE. RSVPs and Donations always appreciated. Sponsored by The Lyons Heritage Society and Wayne County Historical Society.
