About the event
FREE EVENT WITH RSVP. AGES 14 & UP.

Though Wayne County, NY, wasn't settled until after the Revolution, its early settlers were involved in the events taking place further east. Travel back in time, 250 years or more, to coffeehouses of the colonial America, where these venues became hotspots for intense discussions among colonists. This event invites guests to engage in conversations with historical characters, to explore the brewing conflicts of the era and to discover the early popularity of tea, coffee, and hot cocoa. Adventurous guests can participate with scripted roles and costumes, while others can simply observe and share their opinions. Trivia and local historical content will add flavor to the controversies, but everyone will be asked to "choose a side."
The October Event is the last of the year and is Sponsored by Sodus Historical Society, Sodus Bay Historical Society and Marion Historic Association. We hope you take time to visit these organizations.
Funds for these Wayne Co 250 events are provided by NYS 250 Commission and the NYS Dept of Education.
